      Hi surfcity. I believe that's an 8-string ukulele. Each pair of strings is tuned the same. I like the "rope" binding where the top meets the sides. Very nice!

      it's neither, it's a south american instrument called a charango. traditionally was made with an armadillo back! 10 strings, or 5 courses of 2, tuned similarly to an uke but with an extra E on top, I think.

      Steve is correct - it's a Charango - I have one built on an armadillo shell!
