    Any one know anything about this? Any info would be greatly welcomed thanks. I got it at an estate sale it is silver. But has no silversmith. Marks that I can find.

      It's a container of some sorts. It is about3 inches across, 1 inch deep. The lid is the only thing that has any markings. And I will up load more pics.

      You can add up to 4 photographs-- I would suggest you add a photograph that shows the entire object.

      Yes the third pic is a pic of the bottom of the piece. The engraved piece is the top. It is less than a 1 eight in thickness.

      The whole thing weighs about 4 oz. So its not very heavy. And I will post a pic of the whole thing now

      Good pictures-- I am not sure what it was made to hold, but someone should be able to help you out now.

      Theirs was brown, but the lady said her husband traveled around the world and could have gotten it from any where. And I .live in Tenn.

      I find this a handsome and charming item. That said, I trust you will pardon me for observing that the engraving is strikingly 'naive'. The box itself looks well made, and its quality renders the naive engraving all the more remarkable. A mystery! Respectfully submitted, miKKo
