I bought this watch recently believing that this is that last pre WWII production Ingersoll Mickey Mouse watch of 1942 (see watch #14 of this link http://75yearsfortheinegersollmickey.blogspot.co.uk/). I am now very confused as there is a 'US Time' stamp on the case back which dates it post WWII. Expert comments from fellow collectors (in particular from kerry10456) will be very much appreciated. Thanks for looking.
Thanks for the 'love' remote.
Well first off, this looks great, but as things go, I think your confused feeling was right on the money. They (Ingersoll) didn't mass produce any Mickey watches during the WW II years so 1942 model would be the last runs. Those watches are around, but as you pointed out the back should be plain and their would be an ink marker stamp on the inside. The movement is still VERY nice 1939-1942 movement. I'd say someone has put this movement in that 1946-47 case. Still I gotta express that the movement, dial and the colors are great, I'd take it as it is , Thanks for sharing , sorry this wasn't A true 1942 complete piece.
Got to add this short addition to the above post, Then again this just might have had someone taken off back and replaced the wrong one. Either way, I think this is a GREAT addition to your watches.
That would be great if your last comment was the answer... it's an awesome watch!
Thanks you stefdesign, AR8Jason, Manikin & kerry for the 'Love' despite the watch having the 'wrong' back ! Special thanks to kerry for solving the mystery !
