I got these from a flea market. I am trying to find out what they spoons were used for, or what they signify. Any help would be appreciated.
I was told that they were from early 1900's.

Hi, I can't say for sure. They could be functional demitasse spoons; or they could be purely ornamental. If there are no beads or stones near the bowl, I'd venture the supposition that they were demitasse spoons. What's the size of these? Are there any hallmarks? Considering all the labor invested in them, I am thinking that they may well be silver. Regards, miKKo

      Hello There,

These little spoons are 3.5" long, and the bowl is about .5" to 1" wide.
I am sure they are some sort of ornamental, but not sure. I did some investigating and I did see some optium spoons that looked the similar. The head of the spoons, I believe depict something in the design.
      I will continue looking...
      Thanks

Hi, bjmicbry! I was about to remark that the box they're in has closures one usually finds in oriental cases. Hmm...opium? Well, I'll leave that search to you. I know nothing about opium spoons. Thanks for the measurements. If you hadn't mentioned opium, I'd say that these were probably demitasse spoons. Regards, miKKo

I would say you are probably correct in the description as demitasse. The closures have the ivory stickes which fit into the slots. The material on the box has poppy flowers shown on it.

for amazing results when attempting to catch a close up of a makers mark or the detail on one of theses gems often lost in typical photography...allow me to give away this tip.
you simply open your 10x loupe and hold it flush to the lens on your cell phone camera. you obtain focus by moving your body and the phone WITH the loupe intact either near or farive noticed the loupe when flush to the lens of the camera cell phone is happy at 3.5 inches.
