    Hi Bruce I got it & put it back together. It says warranted if well use. P. Canfield, printer, Hartford. Where the bolt is ,there is a American Egale with it's wings open & it says E> Pluribus unum. I'll give u more info on the next set of pics. Thanks. Misty

      Engraver or Printer: Canfield, Philemon, 1786-1864. Pretty prominent printer and evidently an author. We could try to chase down company records if need be, I don't think it's necessary.

      Nothing on what was improved about this clock so we'll assume that it was general marketing by Boardman, probably based on something prior to this particular clock.

      That looks like a Groaner wood movement which would likely put your clock in the circa 1825-1835 range.

      There are some old repairs to one of the gears. Makes one wonder what happened. I see a weight cord but it's not strung over the pulley.

      Have you ever tried to run the clock?

      Hi Bruce, noI haven't I do have the weights but wouldn't know enough to do it, if just hangs on my wall like a picture. Misty

      Well, it's a very old, very beautiful clock...and with that wood movement, you're doing the right thing. If it was hanging in a museum, they wouldn't be running it either! :)
