I wanted to share this wonderful piece of art in the form of a native basket. This basket was woven by Julia K Paul of Kipnuk, AK (I only know this because the tag is still on the basket). The basket is 12" tall and the base is 4". Please share your comments or any additional info you might know about the piece.

Nice that you still have the provenance on this, who made it. That goes far with collectors. This is beautiful!! I would say from where the artist is from, that this is the Yupik tribe.

Julia K.Paul is my grandmother. She made weaved baskets as small as a tea cup to the side a barrel drum......wow, so great to see her beautiful work out there! She is in my profile picture with my sister & I.
