I found this amazing lighting in a pile of junky lighters at an antiques mall in South Florida. It has Robert B Meyner Governor of New Jersey engraved on one side, and a worn out government of New Jersey Seal on the other.
Robert Meyner was an influential governor of New Jersey in the 1950's. He died in florida about 7-10 years ago. I really believe that this was his lighter.
I cleaned out the inside of the light and got it working properly again.
What do you think?
I think that's an amazing find.
great find!!
Thanks everybody!!!
Hello, how are you? I have a 1950's lighter in perfect condition. Ronson. Model Whirlwind Imperial.
It has the box, original manual and warranty.
And engraved with the coat of New Jersey with the name of Governor Robert B. Meyner. I wonder if you have any information about this lighter. What price would be set for him? Do you have any interest?
Most likely presented BY the Governor to someone.
In the 1950s- 70s similar lighters were used as presentation pieces in the US Army and other branches of service and I would think this is a civilian version.

Thank you Scott. Do you have any information of the value would be set for this lighter? It has the box, original manual and warranty.
Not much-- it is too specialized.
If it were a well known governor with national interest, it would be a different story.
As it is it is probably a nice piece for a lighter collector, who might be willing to pay a slight premium due to the engraving.
