This basket is large and it measures about 13.5" Tall and it was used for some type of storage. I don't know what region this basket was from but it looks like some place on the West Coast. I was wondering if anyone knew more about this basket and maybe the type of designs on it. Also, any information about its purpose, age, region, tribe, value, etc would be greatly appreciated. I received this basket along with all of the other ones from my father's estate. Your knowledge and comments are appreciated.

This is most likely Choctaw. I have a few baskets like this (Love them!) that are made with this design. Some say Cherokee, some say Choctaw. I say Choctaw. It was designed for storage of things, but this one was probably made to sell for the tourist trade. The ones they made for themselves were utility only and no colors.
