This is a smaller basket that is about 6" tall and it looks similar to the Tlingit basket I own. This basket is rather fragile and I think that it is very old. This looks like another gem that I acquired from my father's estate. Does anyone know what type of basket this is or who made it? Please help me out with any information you know about it.
Yep, Tlingit. I can see the separation at the top and some staining. There are people who restore these, but I would not worry about that. These baskets are fragile but if taken care of they can last a long time. This one does look to be made around 1910-1920.
