    Three from the tonsorial parlor. Upper right - hand operated hair clipper. Brown and Sharpe Manufacturing Co. of Porvidence RI, patent date Aug 23, 1892. Bottom - folding hair trimmer, brand name Durham Duplex, patent date May 29, 1907. Upper left - "Rattler" straight razer with Peacock embellished handle. C Friedr Ern, Wald, Germany.

      When I was a young lad the hand hair clippers were still in use.They were always dull and it seemed like your hair was being pulled out instead of cut.It seemed to me the folding hair trimmer was used to thin out your hair.Never got a shave with the straight razor but the haircuts were 25 cents for children.
