      I doubt that is a pontil scar. A pontil scar is where the blowpipe was removed from the hand blown bottle. That bottle is way to new and far to complicated to hand blow in the 1800's.

      when i discovered the bottle it came with a wood handle attached for lifting the bottle but the handle broke off once again packrat thanks for the advice i got so many bottles but ill keep em coming . i am having an appraiser come to my home next week to check them all out so i shall see but truly thanks for your info as well.....@brassnut thanks also

      also the place where i obtain these bottles are in a barn that was built in 1860-1890 im still going threw it all !!

      I got to thinking more about your bottle last night, so I did a little more looking through my stuff. As I suspected, that is not a pontil scar, it is a “suction scar”. That was the scar(called an Owens Ring), left by the Owens Bottle machine, between 1919-1929.
      I also noticed the beginnings of a purple color in the last photo. Manganese used to be put in glass to make it clear. One side effect of that was that manganese reacts with the ultraviolet rays of the sun, changing the glass to various shades of purple, depending on the amount of manganese present and exposure time to the sun, after that they started using selenium Most clear glass manufactured between about 1870-1920 will react.
      With all that said, I would date your bottle sometime around 1920.

      you are the mannn thanks alot for your kind research !! yeah when i put it in the light it has a real light purple color to it
