Approx. 12" oval porcelain with wind up music feature (plays"When you wish upon a star") depicting Mickey sleeping in bed and dreaming of the many characters he has portrayed through the years. Pluto is lying at his bedside, as you can see. Purchased over 25 years ago at WDW in Magic Kingdom at a shop in Town Square. It was made in Japan (as shown by lable in pic) , but is was not cheap, by no means. Shop no longer sells these type of collector items. Anyone have any additional information as to years produced or the number produced etc.? Thanks Pop-Pop.
Thanks Kerry. Know anything additional about this piece?
Thanks Manikin. Any ideas on how I can get additional information on this piece?
Does anyone have any suggestions for me to further research this piece. Having a real tough time trying to find out any information. Thanks, Pop-Pop
Aren't there Disney collectible sites out there? It seems that there must be. I'm not a Disney collector, so I don't know. But perhaps you can find similar music boxes produced at around the same time, that you could use as reference.
In my opinion, collectibles like this (including collector plates, figurines, etc) have not increased in value through the years, but decreased. Perhaps Disney is the exception. Sorry I'm not more help.
I was able to find a Disney music box that looks more detailed than yours, and is from the early '90s. It sold at auction for over $600. This may or may not mean anything about your particular piece. Perhaps you could join the site Heritage Auctions, they handle a lot of character/comic/licensed artwork. Worth a shot. But that's only for auctioning/ value info. I have no idea where to find out other details like #of units made, year of manufacture, etc.
Thanks stef
Thanks officialfuel, I appreciate it. PopPop
