My wife was looking for a clock for my "Man Cave"...she collects them...and saw this and bid on it. She got it for $10.50 plus shipping. It wasn't actually just a clock but a Sangamo Tachograph made in September 1955 to be used in buses, taxis and over the road trucks. The boss could chart your mileage ,speed and time on a paper spool loaded inside. It was made by the Sangamo Electric Company in Springfield, Ill. and distributed by the Wagner Electric Corporation out of St. Louis, Mo. It is Model-AA running on 6-8 volts with a 24 hour wind up clock that keeps time perfectly, a 70 MPH speedometer and has 93,536.2 miles on the odometer. It is in beautiful shape for a cast aluminum piece nearly 60 years old and it came with the original key. Most of the other old ones like this I have seen are pitted, broken and look terrible. I gave my wife a big hug and kiss and will proudly display this in my "Cave"!
Thanks for the love mrmajestic...I think Mama made a nice pick for me!
