Garage sales are starting to warm up here in the frozen north. This is most of what I found this past Thursday. My current favorites are the carved wooden troll, the 37mm? arty shell (1916) and the RCA microphone.
I like that emergency light and the boots!
mrmajestic1
I found the emergency light in the bottom of a really dirty old "junk box" the garage at a moving sale.
The boots are like new, still have stickers on the soles. They felt so good on, I couldn't pass them up. Kind of an impulse buy, when I got home and took a closer look they were actually too big for me.
Nice finds! I don't go to garage sales around here, they are full of 80s and 90s junk. You're a lucky guy! Love the troll and just wear two pairs of socks with those boots!
Stef,
In the year 2030 you will be watching the current iteration of Antiques Roadshow and I can hear you saying,"I saw that exact same $5ooK Ninja Turtle at a garage sale in 2012 for a quarter. Dang!"
I love the round, nice that it still has the casing and everything. I have a hard time finding the stuff I like at yard sales, I have much better luck at flea markets. Much more stuff in one place and I don't have to spend so much on gas! That being said, I'm excited to get back to this time of year. Yard sales are a blast!
Happy hunting!
That is just pure fun how you posted your finds. There is a book series called eye spy that has photos like this for you to see with your child. Do I spy some old cuff-lings?
I'm crazy over that troll!!!!!!! And the boots are bad ass. I like trunkman's new game, I spy a pretty nice looking rock (ring). Who's next?
Hi, what are those remarkable glass 'space-age pagodas' on pedestal? They're magnificent! Who made them, how long ago, what are they called, please? Woah.
Dr_Rambow,
I am going to post some better picts of that round in a couple of days. Also hope to get on a few of the items I picked up this week. Not a lot since a big portion of the morning was slowed down by heavy rain.
trunkman,
I have seen at least one of those books, they are lots of fun.
I didn't have any cuff links this time, what you seeare a couple of lapel pins and earrings.
vintagemad,
The troll is one of my favorites too, I believe he is missing a pipe as there is a place for something like that in his lip. The ring was a funky novelty thing I couldn't pass up for a quarter. I bet the Brainerd area is good for garage sales, lots of old "huntin'n'fishin" and cabiny stuff.
miKKoChristmas11,
I am not sure what those things are, Just know I like them. They are some kind of plastic or acrylic. My guess is they might be curtain rod ends. They look great and make fantastic fantasy mushrooms for a trollscape (just made up a new word).
Thanks for loves,

Okay, I've got to chime in,lol. I would have to look at the bottom, but I think the "Snow White" fiqurine, is from a 1960 ingersoll watch , I'm almost 100% positive, That this came with a brand new watch, back in the day. Nice finds all the way around.
Thanks kerry10456,
It's great to have something to go on when researching this stuff. With your helpful hint I was able to find several references to this figurine.
Hi, Bootson. I love trolls, too, and I found an ebay listing for a troll very similar to your guy. Looks like the same artist and the same 'basic' form - very close to your guy! Heading reads: "RARE Norway Wooden Troll by Master Carver Anton Sveen, 1968..." Description contains the following:
* RARE NORWAY TROLLS created in 1968 by the late Norwegian master wood carver Anton Sveen.
* ...measures 7 1/2" in height....
* Sveen's trolls have appreciated in value over the past 30 years but mostly in the last 10 years.
* When it came to trolls, Anton Sveen was the master!

May he live long and prosper. My guess is that he'll hang around for a bit, especially since you've decorated his place so thoughtfully with those cool curtain rod terminals. Regards, miKKo
I believe you pegged it miKKoChristmas11, now I can see what the missing pipe looks like.
Reminds me of something an old friend would sometimes say when I won a poker hand (not a common occurrence). "Even a blind chicken hits the corn once in a while".
Must have been my Norwegian genes that drew me to him. :)
You're too modest. You snare great things - and some very strange things, e.g., the plant holder. You're also like Bellin68, one of the guardian angels who fly around CW taking care of people. Which is why the old Navy man, who is now a Priest, and has a parish in New York City, and has leukemia (sick man), worked on your SOG knife and sent that email off on a Sunday three minutes short of his midnight. I think that the angels will always be watching out for you. Now, you watch out for yourself, hear?- it was a bit risky taking in that Troll. Looks mischievous. Give him some tobacco - might help.
Not only is this like Seek an Find but I love the idea of posting garage sale pictures.
miKKoChristmas11,
Thanks for the kind words.
My memory sometimes needs a nudge but I don't recall the plant holder.
I'll take your advise and keep the Troll happy. I think I must have an old pipe around here that may satisfy him till I can make a copy of the one he lost. Tobacco will be harder to come by since I quit many years ago.
AmberRose,
It would be fun to see others finds too.
