    Lisa-light…
    (30 items)

I believe this shade is shown on the Williamson catalogue page on Loetz and Glass site. The image is 10. CAT. 12, 3
I am not able to distinguish between two images on the I think it was the fourth line. Would some one tell me if there is a difference and if so is either of those shades mine? Thank you very much. If so then another pair of shades gets to move from the unknown shelves to the known. :O)
Am I right is saying that these are Pallme Konig?
Thank you very much for any assistance you have time to give me.
The third and fourth images are of a pair that are a mystery to me. Do they ring any bells for you? If you need shots of any other aspect do let me know. I have shown the fitter, the lining and the decor. I hope.
    Sincerely,
    Lisa

Double fitter or just ring around the collar?

Photo 3 and 4 shade is a Quezal / Durand shape...... BUT I have never seen this green prunt decoration.

      Dear LoetzBuddies,
I haven't seen it either on any other shades but these. I was way off here. I thought that Durand didn't make any shades that weren't proprietary not 2&1/4 fitters. And all the Quezal shades I have are far less chunky for lack of a better term. I do have a few Steuben shades that have this ''cap'' shape. And I have had etched irridescent caps with a matching ten inch fitter shade marked Germany. I had no idea that there were not any Bohemian companies that made cap shades. Thank you for sharing. This has been a very good day. What a wonderful group of people and a fabulous site.
      Sincerely,
      Lisa

Oh dear I see that I have not remembered the Durand quote properly. The books actually say that few 2&1/4 fitter shades were made and that Durand sold some Quezal shades. It also makes reference to those shades in the ''usual'' electric size 2&1/4 are so unusual as to be obviously made by Durand. I'm afraid I didn't find that last bit very useful to me at this point since I am not that I have seen any Durand shades or enough of them to draw any conclusions. I think that perhaps given the comment I did receive here from LoetzBuddies. I should perhaps move the image to the American Art glass section. Thank you very much for looking at the shades. All of them. With regard to the first one. I know that I did see it in a catalogue page that was listed on line. And I am also sure that there were two entries that looked similar beside each other. I don't know who posted the catalogue page but I wonder if it is anyone here would they be so kind as to send me a larger image? Or to tell me if the shades I have in this first pattern are indeed either one of the types shown on the page? If so they I believe I might safely say that this shade is indeed Pallme Konig. Thank you again.
      Most Sincerely,
      Lisa

just by way of a follow up, Last week I saw a shade on ebay that was definitely American and it resembled the green random threaded shade above. It was threaded in gold with a gold iridescent lining but the Prunts were very very tiny. As in barely dots. I think they came from the same factory. However I still have no idea which? Thank you Loetz Buddies! You put my on the right track here.
      Sincerely,
      Lisa

Hello Lisa, The shape of the shades in pics 3 and 4 is also a Steuben shape and is shown in Darrah Robert's book page 55, pic 100. Steuben did threading of this type and I think I would put my money Steuben, but I have been wrong before.

      Dear Johann,
Thank you for your time. Yes, I have some Steuben that have this shape too but these are very heavy and that is what is giving me so much trouble. They are clunky and I have never had a Steuben that could be described that way. Not that I have had or handled loads of them. :O) They just don't feel right. They seem as though they were made by the guy that finished in the bottom half of his class, not in the top half. Have you ever seen an American made shade with prunts like these? I am wrong so often lately it feels right. :O) I have nearly worn out my Darrah books and nothing is jumping out at me. Don't you wish someone would do a few great books on shades? Oh and while I am asking, do you know where there are examples of Riedel shades? Those I have seen online so far are ACB. Is that all they offered? Or are there more? Would you care to share, with regard to researching shades, what are your favourite sources?
      Sincerely,
      Lisa
