I haven't a clue about this clock which no longer works. The dealer I bought it from said he had to send it to France to be repaired, but I am dubious.

send to france? well lets see what bruce99 knows about this one. I thought a good clock repair shop could do the repairs it would need.

Beautiful clock. Looks like it might be Onyx? French clocks are a little different, but no more so than say a clock made in England or Germany. It looks like it only has a time train, no strike or chimes. It can't be that hard. Do a search in the British Horological Institute directory for a shop near you:
http://www.bhi.co.uk/repairer.html. That's a good place to start anyway.
Good luck and please let us know what you find out.
