Needless to say, when I "found" this treasure I was excited! I love Marcel Boucher designs but when I started to research this piece, what I discovered really got me going. Apparently in 1940 he patented the design for his "Cyclamen" pin and there are many to be found for sale at $700 and up. These are the ones encrusted with rhinestones. There are also enamelled versions. But I have never seen a plain goldtone pin like this one. It is signed copyright Boucher and 8738P, which is the correct patent number for this design. What is interesting is that there is also something engraved on the stem - the word "Cyclame" - yes, spelled without the "n", the way a French speaker would say it! I would love to know more about this pin, so if anyone can offer insight I would be grateful!
