This watch belonged to my two or three-times great grandfather from Norway, a ship owner who died at sea and is buried in the Spanish catacombs.
This is what I know - it's a chain driven mechanism with a key for winding via the face of the watch. Engraving on the back reads:
Wm. Hanson
Windsor
No. 770
Fast Slow
The photo of the hallmarks is horrible & I apologize, but if there's someone who knows this maker, you might be able to figure it out.
The crystal has been broken forever & I didn't bother to take a photo of the face, which is all gold - not porcelain. If anyone wants to see that, I can add it later. We're just trying to find the history of the maker for the family record!
