Picked up these interesting parachute wings at an estate sale, what appears to me to be unique is the vertical mounted pinback since all I have seen is the horizontal type. Since it measures 3/4 inch is this a sweetheart pin?? Thanks

I haven't seen a vertical pinback before either but based on size I think this could be a miniature to be worn with a miniature medal set on mess dress uniforms. It could also have been used as a lapel pin on a civilian suit jacket.

Thanks, I thought the vertical pin was pretty rare...

      Interesting basic Airborne wings.

I haven't seen a verticle pin either, but cannot see any details to tell if it is original to the pin.

Is it marked? Some additional photos that clearly show the pinback may help to decipher when this was made.
