    I found what I think is a button. It looks pretty old and very neat. Looks brass with blue painting. A little of the blue has worn off. The back looks like a stud.
    I am not a button collector so I don't know a thing about it.
    Any info on it would be greatly appreicated

      It is a "stud" button. If you go on eBay and look them up you will see many. I believe that garments had button holes in both sides and these studs were interchangeable so that many different buttons could be worn. This is a very old button - probably pre 1900. Buttons used to be a part of fashion just as shoes are today. They bought sets of buttons and changed them out or upgraded when they could. I LOVE your button and have never seen one like it for sale. What a character to have worn that!
