Commonly known as "SPOON WIRE" by collectors. Barbed wire patented November 28, 1882, patent #268,264 by John C. Milligan of Brooklyn, New York. This design utilized the waste metal from the manufacture of spoons. This wire undulates as the waste metal is curved along the spoon handle. The patent was assigned (sold) to The Lalance and Grosjean Manufacturing Company, of New York, New York. Was Mr. Milligan an employee?
