Ok, if anyone has information on this dresser, I will be BEYOND impressed. All I know is it was my Nanny's when she was younger. It has an old silver backed mirror. Right now it's in horrific shape...my aunt decided to "antique" an antique....who does that?! Anyway, we've been trying to remove the nasty paint and get it back to it's original splendor. It has some other issues, and I may pay to have it fixed. The black and white picture is the dresser in 1957. Can anyone ID it?

Hi, this is a beautiful serpentine Victorian dresser!!! I am ignorant about furniture and would never be able to ID it, but I think that those who aren't will need more info. The 1957 is great - shows the casters on feet. I don't see casters on the feet in the other photo. You might have to open up another 'Show and Tell' module to record more photos relevant to your ID quest. Those who know furniture might want a photo of the back of mirror and dresser, a close-up of feet and handles, photos of hardware, photo of interior of drawer - with good photo of joins, photos of factory marks in drawer and on rear - including chalk marks. Is this tiger oak? Is it a veneer? Any secondary woods? Beautiful piece! So glad you have your Grandmother's dresser, and so glad that it will be getting the TLC it deserves. Regards, miKKo

Unfortunately, there are *no* markings on it that I can find. But, since it had years of paint on it that I removed, I wonder if I took some of the marks off?? Whoops. My aunt seems to think she saw the picture of the dresser in a 100 year old catalog for Sears. All I know for sure is it's OLD. The seams on the drawers are dovetailed, and the wood is veneered on the side and top. Other than that...I got nothing. I may need to open another collectorsweekly page for it so I can get more pictures.
