I figured I couldn't hit a town-wide sale without bringing home something that had Coca-Cola on it somewhere, lol!! This became the #1 song on the charts in 1945, so it can't be too bad. I'll let you be the judge..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVVEj1v_ul8
Now there's an old school disk! Unique piece Tom. I hear records are making a comeback. Hopefully you have a turn table or phonograph on which to spin it. The youngsters will be a-mazed!
Ooops I thought I fixed that skip Ray.... how's it now? Dave, even if I had a player it wouldn't work so well, it is cracked in half.
These discs are way before my time, i can barley remember when we had cassette tapes, but im sure you guys all remember these discs lmao :)
I think it's interesting that this song was written by Morey Amsterdam. He was the guy who played Buddy Sorrel on The Dick Van Dyke show in the 60's. This was way before Trevors time too!
we had those record players and 45's as kids, the chipmonks, Beatles, Letterman etc.. When the Beatles said they were more known than Jesus my dad thru my Beatles 45's away!
Spriteboy, thanks for stopping by! I did a little checking on the history of the song and Moreywon a court battle over the rights to it. It seems like he pretty much stole it (and changed a couple words) from a group led by Lord Invader of Trinidad Island. Morey had to pay royalties to them but the court gave him the copyright.
Thank you to Ed, Trev, and Bellin as well!
I almost think music was before Trevor's time, have you heard any of that "noise" kids listen to today, lol..
LOL im going have to agree with you Tom, I like the music from your guys generation; The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, ACDC, the list goes on! The Beatles is my fav classic rock band they have soo much music!! Have I ever showed you guys all the Beatles albums i have?
Thanks Perry!!
