I just purchesed this Car at at a yard sale..It has rubber wheels .It appears to me to have original paint..red top, gold body. Underneath there is a plate that is held on by strange looking scrwe or whatever...not flat head or phillips and an oval hole in the middle. The inside is silver colored. The back tires are flat..
Car is 8 inches long and about 2 1/2 high
Any idea what this is worth?

It appears you have a Banthrico cast promotional bank. Banthrico started out in the 1930's making promotional banks of animals and buildings. After WW2 they focused on precision metal replica banks of cars, accurately painted, and mostly in 1:25 scale. These car models were used as 'paint chips' to display real car colors to prospective buyers. Through the early 1950s, Banthrico was the leader in metal promotional models.

From what I have seen, you should find the makers mark on the plate for the bottom.

Thank you Forpeepsake...This helps a lot...I was surprised when I found it at a yard sale for $2.00..there is no slot to put money so perhaps as you mentioned it's a replica for prospective car buyers...Still it's a neat item...and I thank you for the history..
Glad to help. By the way, the slot for putting money in the bank was in the plate for the bottom as well as a simple lock and the makers mark. Here is a link to a Cadillac from Banthrico were you can see the plate quite well in the third picture for the listing.
