I picked this statue up today. I have never seen a dopey figure like this before. I am needing help identifying the stone material this figure is made of. I took pics as close as possible. This figure is stamped Walt Disney productions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
What is your best guess of what it is made of? It's impossible for me to tell from the photo if it's hard plastic, resin, vinyl, or something else. Is it hard some sort of fired clay? Could it possibly be soap?
Does it look like the paint has come off, or like it never was painted? Perhaps it's a figure meant for the owner to paint, like a craft? Just tossing out ideas.
Thanks stefdesign! It's made out of a smooth solid stone like material. It has never been painted and doesn't seem to be made for painting. I just have no clue. I think I'm going to take somewhere today to find out.
I don't know but looking at the pictures #3 and 4 the brownish swirls in the material don't seem to run thru all the way, the bottom appears (to me) to be smooth and evenly white in color with a hint of the brown bleeding from the outer glase. With that, I'm leaning towards a "Resin" based material. Again just a guess, but I really like the character. Thanks for sharing.
