THIS SODA PARLOR CHAIR IS DIFFERENT IN THE FACT THE BACK IS ONLY 28 INCHES HIGH. IT IS THE FIRST ONE I'VE SEEN SO I HAD TO BID ON IT AT THE AUCTION. BENT STEEL AND WOOD CONSTRUCTION MAKES E THINK 40'S OR 50'S CONSTRUCTION. MAYBE A VANITY CHAIR?
My Grandparents had a set of of the regular high back chairs in their kitchen, I've never seen one with a back that low either, love it.
What is the height of the seat?
Just a little fun -- but did you realize that your chair is made in the exact same style as a wire mesh cork holder of a champagne bottle turned around to resemble a chair?
In my opinion it is a bistro chair...
@eye4beauty, my question was to CAD, as I believe that the height of the seat is standard, not child height. These are known as ice cream parlour chairs, these ones may have had a low back so that people wouldn't lean back & relax & linger to long. Similar reason for Diner stools.
@eye4beauty, no apologies necessary, I should have been more clear with my question, but I'm a two finger typer so I try to keep it brief :)
THE SEAT HEIGHT IS 17 1/2 INCH AND OVERALL HEIGHT IS 28 INCHES
That would make it a adult chair then.
I just bought a chair just like this one, or very close to it for a friend of mine. We seen it outside a flea market in their junk pile. .only wanted $5.00 ; she really liked it, so i got it for her... did anyone figure out what it is?
I think it mat of been a vanity chair.
