Purchased after separate bid auctions without the intent of displaying together, I'm finding these two pieces sure do look nice side by side. They are of the same period. I decided to put up and out of the way (from little hands) on one end of our fireplace mantel. These glass pieces are a little tricky to display though, they do not view well without a black backdrop. Any pointers will be appreciated. Props to Mr. earlycoke, who provided an absolute dead-on assessment of the flare glass prior to end auction. My contentment with receiving these two fine pieces of glass was followed shortly by this thought: Now I need a Seltzer Bottle!!! Yes, it is an illness, folks. :)

Very nice Dave, they look great. Those seltzer bottles can be fairly elusive too.

Thanks Gents for your comments. More like I put the "budge" in budget! Will have to sell another piece now to off set cost of these two. TGBWC, when I placed these on the mantle next to my mom's oil lamp, I flashed back to the tennis ball hockey my brother and I used to play in our family room, and Mom yelling "if you break any of my lamps, we're selling you back to The Indians!!!" I like the cabinet idea.

There's a seltzer bottle on Ebay right now with an etched label. Would look good with these two pieces.

Thanks Spriteboy. I will consider the Monterey bottle (might just have to pull the trigger). I like the ones with the Coca-Cola script logo too, I'm going to keep an eye out, not sure how often those appear. I appreciate the tip!

Holy cow Dave, I missed these also!! What a great couple of items, they do go very well together. Another area of coke-collecting I would have over-looked, but for your great eye for the unique! Excellent post and find buddy!! Now to find these at a" picker price" i'm sure would be impossible!

Thanks Bernie for the kind words. Yeah, I'm taking it easy lately after these two, definitely took a hit to the wallet (3+1). A couple moths flew out of it last time I looked in there! Trying to keep my golf and Coca-Cola fixations from conflicting can be a challenge... ;)

No worries Trevor. I have a lot of fun looking at your stuff and sometimes the other CW members say it all. You know I dig your stuff, words or no. Thanks for stopping by!

I once had a glass like that but it was the modified version. Too bad I dropped it in my drive way. Very cool syrup bottle!! love the small reg. trade mark in the "C"!!

Thanks spriteboy42! Great to hear from you. Yes, handling the glass items can be a little dicey...

I've included a new picture of this display after adding some hard plastic resin to the glass, syrup bottle, and seltzer bottle, to give the effect of containing liquid. Great idea by eye4beauty and Trevor leads to enhancement of the pieces (thanks again you two).

I like the "bubbles" in the glass. Nice touch!!

Thanks for noticing Tom! It took a couple tries at mixing to get that just right.
