I got this clock from my Aunt as a wedding gift. She had gotten it in England at an antique shop in the 50's. I have been able to identify the maker as the LeBoutillier Co. and the clock mechanism is made by Japy Freres. The clock still runs great and chimes. I am curious about the exact age. I am guessing 1860-1900? If any body might have some information on this clock or it's age that would be great.

      Very nice clock!

You might be able to get a fairly accurate "circa" date by looking at the Japy Freres medallion stamp. See this link for Japy Freres medal and prize dates: http://www.antiqueclockspriceguide.com/japyfreresdates.php

Hope that helps. Please let us know what you find.

Also, be careful to never lift this clock by that top ledge. As you know the slate or marble is very heavy and it will pull away from the substrate so always carry with hands below the bottom of the case!

Thanks for sharing your clock with the Collectors Weekly community.
