Looks like A D&E (Juliana) made piece, always nice!
Oh that is fantastic- It is so beautifully made. How can you tell its Juliana? I have only recently started doing research into all this beautiful vintage jewelry
I look at the back of piece & can almost instantly tell. Check this site out http://julianajewelry.net/ great info on the ways to spot a piece. Plus the insanely beautiful eye candy:)
thank you so much for your help! This is amazing. I love learning new things about this jewelry! so fascinating!
Do you have any idea on value? I inherited a large collection (several Weiss pieces among many others) and really am unsure what something like this is worth.
Well since it was something passed on to you I would say the pieces are priceless!
But in reality if you were to go to an antique store & find this brooch it would likely cost around $18-$30. I think if you were to have just this one piece on say eBay it would go for the lower end of estimation. But if you had a few people get into a bidding war it could reach past the high estimate. You just never know.
Now the Miriam Haskell brooch is a entirely different story, sky's the limit!
But you should think long & hard about selling them. Once gone you may be able to find another but it would not have the same meaning as the ones passed on to you. (guilty party myself) If I were you I would continue adding pieces to your already beautiful collection. Collecting vintage costume jewelry is addicting & from your comments I get a sense you are on your way to becoming a junkie like the rest of us:)
Well thank you so much for your input! I really appreciate it! I am in LOVE with the Miriam Haskell- I can not believe that it is such a beautiful and intricate piece! I think they are all amazing and I love learning more- thank you for sharing!
