I know that this is supposed to be "the issue" that is often reprinted, but it has all of the misspellings and errors that seem indicitive of an original (except, of course, those that cannot be seen due to the missing or faded portions).

I saw an example that had horses on the wallpaper side. Can someone tell me if the wallpaper side depicted the same image for all of the originals, or were there different designs even on the original? Are there other ways to tell if this is an original or a reprint? Thanks!

I'm sorry, maybe I'm dumb, but I have no idea of the backstory of this item. Can you enlighten?

From my limited knowledge, during the Civil War, when supplies were limited, they used wallpaper to print the news. The issues around July 2-4 are supposed to be the rarest (and most valuable) issues. This particular issue, July 2nd, is supposed to have been forged or reprinted many times. The original has certain inherent flaws, misspellings, etc. The copy I have here reflects each of those flaws as far as I can see, but some parts of the item are worn away or torn away, so with my limited knowledge I cannot authenticate this...

Thank you so much. I felt like I had walked into the middle of a movie and couldn't figure out the plot! Great story, hope it's authentic!
