I have four of these in my collection. They are one-quarter inch thick and the sleeves are with them. I believe they were made in the early 1900's.

With some of these old records, if they were to break, you could mix them (with alcohol I believe) and make a form of shellack, after several days.

Your record was manufactured in 1921. It is not a 78 rpm record, it is an 80 rpm record, and can ONLY be played on an Edison Diamond Disc Player.

There is NO shellac in a Diamond Disc. They were made by laminating an early plastic called "Condensite Varnish" over a blank (core) comprised of materials like woodflour, chalk, china clay, phenol resin, cotton flock, lamp black, gas black, and denatured alcohol. If you mix them with alcohol, you will get nothing.
