The skies were dark and scary as I entered the old run down Funeral home basement. Actually,,, the sun was shining, and the Funeral home was really nice, built in the 1930's. My friend came through again, letting me dig through one of the homes that he works. He hooked me up with a casket full of dusty relics, but this is one of my favorite pieces. I also got the matching lamps. This one folds for home viewing use.

Very neat Vontrike ! Can't say looking through a funeral parlor is something I could do :-) But this looks like a folding prayer alter to me . Kneel on lower one and put closed hands on top so you don't fall . Love it it is a great religious piece of history !

Thanks Manikin. You are right. This one was used in front of the casket.

Very nice and looks so victorian . Still can't say I like Funeral homes even with this beautiful prayer alter :-)

i really like old religious things for some reason - more every year. could be my catholic roots showing! this piece is particularly cool. it could be displayed really well w/ a very dramatic sacred heart sculpture behind the drapes.

Thanks Hedgewalker, toolate2, and officialfuel. Every time my wife sends me to the doghouse, I use this to pray she lets me back in.
