I found this at a garage sale. It sure looks old, if it's original it would be from 1939, the only reproductions I could find are tin or were calendars in the 40's. This one does not seem to be a calendar and is on paper.

I bought one of these at a auction my wife and I attended. On the bottle, in small print, it says Copyright "1939". It is paper on cardboard with a small hole on top with one hole on each bottom side. It does show a little wear. I would say that this type of advertisment is authentic. I have not tried to sell mine. May keep it for some time?
Good Health to you and yours.

Thanks Bob! So about how much is it worth? I looked it up but could not find any price, the site I was looking at said there were only two known to exist, 1 was in Ohio & they did not know where the other one was. Is yours rounded at the top too? Mine isn't a perfectly straight cut so I thought maybe someone cut it by hand but the the hole in the center makes me think it is suppose to be rounded.

Scott, you need to find a legitimate dealer in baseball memorabilia in order to find it's true worth. It looks "from the period" to me, in fact I'm 90% sure of it. I doubt anyone on this forum has the expertise to place a value on it. Do some research on the net for high end dealers in sports memorabilia.

What website said that there were only 2 known examples? Also what are the dimensions of the sign?
    6. scottsearcy15 scottsearcy15, 14 years ago
9.5 inches wide, 14 inches tall, the bottle of cola is 6.25 inches tall. I have found a couple websites saying there is only 1 or 2 still known to exist but I am not sure where they got that info.

I have one that is 14 3/16 X 10. It looks just like yours but the bottle on mine says copyright 1935 instead of 1939. This puzzles me.
    8. scottsearcy15 scottsearcy15, 14 years ago
my bottle says 1935 too. I wonder why the size is different? Is yours rounded at the top? I know they made some calendars in the 40's. Does yours have the 3 holes?
    9. dellwebb, 14 years ago
Mine is rounded as well although not a perfect semicircle. Mine also has the 3 holes. It appears to be old as there is wear around the holes. Did you have any luck determining value?
    10. scottsearcy15 scottsearcy15, 14 years ago
mine is also not a perfect semicircle, almost as if it was cut by hand.. but a pretty steady hand. No idea on the value yet. Unless you or Bob are the guy in Ohio, that makes at least 4 known to exist. I am not sure if Bob's says 1939 on the bottle or if he needs better glasses. Not sure why yours is a 1/2 inch wider either? ... or what the 3 holes are for? Where did you get yours, I got mine at a garage sale in Wisconsin.

One in Ohio (not sure if it's THE one, but it was the same as these examples) sold this morning at an auction in Circleville. I went to the auction to bid on it... went too high. $300, which I thought was probably pretty close to market value. The bottle did say 1935, but i could see how someone might read it incorrectly as 1939.

I read where the one in Ohio was in Medina. Did you find out who it is? I would like to see a picture of that one. I am confused about the 1935 date. It looks like the copyright date for red rock was indeed 1939. Was this add pulled after an incorrect date resulting in few copies. Who knows? If it is a reproduction one would think that the date would be 1939 and many copies would exixt. Thoughts?

My sign is 10" x 14 3/16" that is rounded at the top. . To me the entire piece is a die cut. No indications that it was cut by hand. The copyright appears to be 1935. However, on top of the 5 is a black mark that makes the 5 look like a nine? My three holes have wear probably from tacks being used to hang item up. On the bottom right side were the hole is you can see the paper has a small fold indicating that it was glued on. My piece shows wear here and there. Probably due to exposure placing the item where it looked pleasing to the eye. I have not attempted to sell my piece. I may do it soon. I purchased this item in Michigan.

This is a fantasy piece that never existed in vintage form. I've seen several over the years...sorry.

I just sold mine for $400 at Gold & Silver Pawn. You can see it on Pawn Stars on the episode called Gnarly Harley. I saw some people online saying it was fake but I'm pretty sure after talking to Rick that it is real.

Interesting situation. If you Google Real or Reproduction you will get a number of sites you may be able to find comparisons and more info.
