Old insulators that we bought to make into a water feature. We hung it up on the veranda to get an idea how the water would fall, and to see if it would work.
We thought we would leave it there for safety and found that the birds would come and drink out of it, so now we leave it filled with water and one of them we fill with bird seed. A lovely sight!....:-)

i've seen them used like this as the downspout for a roof drain - similar to the traditional japanese ones.
