This is a beautiful large vase that was given to me and I love it but have been completely unable to find out anything about it. I have not found anyone, even an antique appraiser who knew anything about it, they were just not sure.
As you can see, it is a handpainted lovely vase about 18" high at the top of the handles with a scene with swans on the front with a lot of beautiful birds and flowers in relief all over it. There is a maker's mark on the bottom with the numbers 1731 and then a 7 underneath that. The makers mark looks like a dot next to a Ch, but you can see what you think in the picture. I think it is exquisite and I love it but would love to know it's age, where it was made and the history of who made it. Has anyone ever seen anything like this or seen the makers mark as I haven't found anything in any books. Could it be Majolica or I suppose German or French, just guessing but would love to hear if anyone recognizes this vase or style, maker , etc. It would be wonderful to solve this mystery as I have wondered for years. I am so hopeful that someone with experience in antiques may recognize it so I am putting it out where the world can see it to get some feedback. Thank you so much
