Ok, I have a weakness for creepy dolls, and this one takes the cake. Her back identifies her as a Horsman, her arms and head are compo and her body is cloth. Feels like she has a mama talk box. Anyone know who she is?
Hi
She has some letters beside the C the copyright . What are they ? She is a Composition Mama Doll your right . Sad shape and to restore would be costly . She dates from about 1930. How tall is she ?
It says "E I © H CO" then under that EI Horsman Inc
Just found a tape measure she is approximately 18 inches long
That is "Baby Dimples " Number usually used but yours is not her . No dimples or smile :-) Yours would be a just a early Mama Horseman Doll in need of a hospital :-) here is one similar . You do love those dolls that need the love only a Mother could have :-) She is very nice and deserves a good home and a restored face .

I'm interested in one day getting her restored...she's in horrific condition, her arms are cracked so badly. I've never seen a Horsman with cloth legs, so it was interesting to me (granted I don't know much about Horsman)
Your doll is "Baby Horsman" look in my pics here and see what it looks like after I restored my own like yours. Dimples is an entirely different doll with absolutely no similarities to Baby Horsman. Baby Horsman is a valuable doll.

Thanks, swankykitty! I can't tell, are your doll's legs cloth?? Or has mine been modified?
Hi Jl it sure looks like Baby horseman . I never said it was Dimples . Baby Horseman had cloth legs :-)
1923 Baby Horsman, 14, 20 & 24" tall, designed by Edith Hitchcock, composition flange head & hands with loosely stuffed cloth body and limbs, disk jointed shoulders, hip joints are stitched, molded painted hair & facial features (they largest size has painted eyes, the smaller two have sleep eyes), and closed mouth. Was meant to portray a real life baby and even has dimpled hands. All are marked: E.I. © H. Co.
Many Horseman dolls used this mark . I can't see hair clear on yours . But I always said she was worth saving and restoring :-)
Yes my doll's legs are cloth. :-D
Manikin, she has molded hair. It's really hard to see it though, due to her being in such a state. I can't find any restoration places around her to get my doll fixed. The ones I can find don't deal in composition. Ugh...
Does she have like a curl of hair in front bangs area ? Email me ok jlenno my email is under my profile ok :-)
Manikin, yes she does have a curl. I'll email you some pictures, I don't think you'll be able to see it though..we'll see.
