It looks a lot like the Stanley no.2..not sure if its a good knock-off or a collaboration of random planes. there isn't a Stanley marking anywhere I can see...only a made in USA embossed below the front handle and a moneys worth stamp on the blade....but that looks newer replacement blade. the base measures 9 3/8" long and 2 3/8" wide....just wondering what your thoughts are..do i have something worth wild here...and how much do you think i can get for it?...thanks
You might need to pull down the zipper for us to see the blade LOL
hahahahaah !!!!!! Awesome response rocker-sd ! I think the poster might be a little confused. Maybe it's in the pocket ???? EPIC WIN for rocker. TG
Pics were on my phone and wouldn't upload....so I just put thar pic up to save my description..and I wouldn't have to really do it all....funny post though...here are the real pics...thanks
Sorry couldn't resist, you can delete these post.
Its all good......I probably would have done it to you...if the tables were turned
Dang! I missed all the fun!
What you have is a smooth plane. I seriously doubt it is a Stanley if it isn't marked. If you Google it you will see the dimensions are off by quite a bit for the #2.
I can't see the iron clearly but it looks like it has been ground at the outer edges. That is a common thing to get the desires effect for doing reproduction wainscoting or other period restoration work. You grind down the outer edges so you get a minor concave in the surface of the piece you are working.
