I found this vintage hat pin in my mother's collection. Can you tell me what it is made of, year, value, or anything about it? Looks like it is plastic (brown to blonde fade with pearl shiny finish) with 5 rhinestones around each end. One end of shaft is threaded and screws into the plastic end. Each brown plastic end is about 2 inches long.
Very exciting to learn that it is a jabot pin. I have read more on history of fashion during Edwardian and Art Deco period. Learned new things. I have added 2 additional photos to help determine material and age. What is the value?
One person wrote: The date is the end of the Edwardian period and into the Art Deco Period. It appears to be celluloid.
Thank you for your helpful information.
I was happy to see this. I too have one from my grandmother, but green. I wondered if it is bakelite? Didn't know it was called a jabot. Fun name.
