I picked this great sign over the weekend. It's in pristine condition with the adhesive still covered & unused on the bottom. I believe this sign was likely meant to be stuck on top of a gas pump or on a service station counter. I have to measure it, but I think it's about 18" x 12", probably a little bigger.

I'm guessing this is dated sometime in the late 60's - early 70's

Sign is dated more of a mid 70's sign. These signs would have went on top of the stainless steel gas pumps, as they were done using globes at that point for the most part. Stuff like this was used into the 80's even. Still...a NOS sign such as this should fetch $25.00-30.00.

Chad, my research tells me that based on the average of three realized auction values online, it should fetch around $115.00 to the right collector. Upon what are you basing your $25-30 value?

Actual sales. I have had several over the past 20 years and I couldn't give these away at first. Not all being the same kind of course. The two that I do have left are NOS and I have a price tag of $35.00(phillips) on one and $45.00(texaco) on the other I have had them for several years. Simply not moving. There are in a antique store so I do have a mark up for the 10%. It is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. If you sell your for $115.00, you know where there is another at that you can make money on.

Gotcha. I definitely appreciate your input on this. I paid a little more than the ones you have for sale, but I'm thinking I should've done more looking around before making the purchase. The guys I bought it from told me it was valued a lot higher than any of the prices either of us mentioned. I guess you live & learn. Maybe in another 10 years, these particular signs will sell for a decent amount?

For what it's worth, this same sign just sold for $86.00

That's good!! It only takes two people to want something during a auction. Basically sold for $100.00 when you count the shipping in. I would still be happy to get what I have mine listed for, . . .maybe I'll put them on the bay.
