Between 1860 and 1920 the use of tokens to pay wages to the workers of the tasks nitrate was common in all of them.
A wide varieties of chips in metal: brass, aluminum, copper,
lead, nickel. Also there Ebonite and cardboard.
There were more than 300 offices nitrate in the former provinces of Tarapaca and Antofagasta.
