I am a rookie, so let's hope of of those who really know what they're talking about weigh in. Just to get the item opened, I'd say it's probably Aesthetic Movement, which means probably UK or USA origin, my guess - circa late nineteenth century or earliest twentieth century. Now, let's hope one of the experts comes along.....By the way, I love this!

thankyou very much for info,u indeed know a lot more than me,i like this piece to,shame about the damage on the feet(did u notice)

Hi, skeptikz! No, I didn't notice any damage. Do you mean the dark stain on the bottom? If so, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Chips are one thing, but dark stain where one cannot see it is much less significant, I think. I did notice some significant crazing, and so it isn't a near-perfect piece. However, it is beautiful! - and old, and deserves some extra consideration.

no there is a couple of chips,i guess the camera did it justice because there not visible!

Love those rivets! I mean it! It's a collecting area in itself.
People collect things that were deemed so precious that they spent money to have them repaired. Those feet have repairs that remind me of Frankenstein and even "crowns of thorns". They are wonderful!

..... and those marks. They remind me of Minton date marks. Just a hunch. Is there anything impressed?
    9. skeptikz skeptikz, 13 years ago

Hi, skeptikz. Now I see what you're talking about. Love the article, and love the "make-do".
