      It is an ashtray - probably 1950s or 1960s and likely to be from Italy. Very popular item then, many are from Murano. Today you see them on ebay as nut dishes or small bowls.

      Patricia is right, Murano & date. But the indents to lay your cancer stick is large, so it would be for Cigars. Have over 50 of these. LOL Dave
