This old stove came to me in pieces, in a big box. It's last known location was Amityville , New York . It was rusted beyond "proper" repair , but I couldn't let such a cool old stove justa' rotting away in a box ! The oven side is gone ,but I welded a new frame on the bottom, and fabricated a small u-shaped burner box under the two left side burners so I could use it for cooking 'burgers ...we've been using it for years, and occasionally I notice the "coal smell" from it's first years as a coal stove...
It's smaller than most of the stove/ovens that I've found on the internet. I'm wondering if it is a miniature replica , used by salesmen to sell full sized stoves ? It's only 2' 4" from the ground to the top of the cooktop. My wife says that there was a "Roebuck" plate on it , but it's gone now...there is a number stamped into the top frame... #47-14
It's a very nice plant- stand / stove...I'd like to know more abt it ! It's not for sale.
