This is something that my Dad had as well, the artwork on print is so pretty, and in the original frame. The pics are not great, couldn't get a good close up, but appears to be a membership certificate? I searched this for hours too, found stuff pertaining "Odd Fellows" but nothing like this. The name is very clear, and date, North Hampton Lodge, in Massachusetts dated 1908.
I would love to contact the family, if they can be found to see if they would like to have this. It's crazy to me that this found it's way here! Any help appreciated~ I am not using the right "words" or phrases in my searches because I don't know to call it...Tried poster, membership, anything I could think of...any ideas.
Well, all I know is that Oddfellows are a fraternal organization, like Elks or even Masons, American Legion, etc. Just like most of organizations like that, there were local chapters, lodges, clubs, etc. It looks like a service certificate- the member was honored for his position in the order. It's pretty awesome, so beautiful! I think that would be wonderful if you could get it back to the correct family! I once bought a baby book at a flea market from 1950, and was able to get it back to the owner. He was so grateful!
I think it's so awesome too! People from New England don't usually leave, and the guys name was William Stanton, that just sounds like a old family name huh? lol...I'm going to keep looking...
One thing that makes me laugh a little is his office name: Royal Grand of Loyal. Now that's some job!
Oops, I mis-typed... I meant NOBLE Grand of Loyal!
