It's always great to find aventurine vessels by Rindskopf - the colors are rich, the thick cased glass adds "heft" (and in some cases, contrasting color) to the piece, and I really love the tiger striped variety. I've seen taller versions of this shape - this one is 6.25". One unusual thing about this piece is that unlike all the other examples of Rindskopf aventurine I have owned, this one has been given an acid bath - the exterior has a matte finish.

The shipping was a near disaster - it was in a shoebox inside a Goldfish box. The package was heavily damaged and soaking wet when it arrived. Fortunately, it is a solid piece and was wrapped in 3/4" foam. I didn't even have to untape anything to pull it out of the package. Scary moment.

Gawd, loveeeee sellers like that. I think the post office must treat our packages better than we give them credit for because it seems like near misses are more common than disasters even though there are terrible packagers like that out there.
