Ideal company purse doll can you show a photo of tag it helps date it . It is wonderful ! What is face made of ? I will await your photo of tag or tells me exactly what it is says as they made several different tags . It is a Childs purse doll and one of the nicest I have seen :-)

thanks! My aunt took care of everything she owned. I am forwarding two pictures of the tag - I have glaucoma, and am low vision. It's difficult for me to read - maybe you can. The face is hard material (?) = not familiar with these things!

oops -= how do I send additional pictures?
    5. Manikin Manikin, 13 years ago
go to your post and click edit and you will be able to upload 3 more photo's . Go to bottom of page and say save . All will then be added . You can post 4 photo's on any post you put up . The more the better so we see back front and tags or markings . I will watch for it .

I don't have a back view - just front. I found the markings I had written down - the photos are too blurry.
      It reads "Ideal Baby Mine"
      US patent
      doll Muff
      No.41176 (0)
      Hope this helps!

Mayo, Margaret [née Lilian Clatten] (1882–1951), playwright. Born in Brownsville, Illinois, she was an actress from 1896 to 1903, when she retired from performing to devote herself to playwriting. Her earliest successes were adaptations of novels: The Marriage of William Ashe (1905) and The Jungle (1907). However, Mayo is best remembered as the author of more original plays such as Polly of the Circus (1907), Baby Mine (1910), Twin Beds (1914), and Seeing Things (1920), written with Aubrey Kennedy.

Your doll muff was produced in about 1911 by Ideal Toy Co. It must represent a character in the play or the author Margaret. She firsr produced a play then it was a film and was re released again by a different producer.

that's absolutely wonderful! I have a page from a doll magazine describing her, but nearly as much detail as you have provided. My aunt deceased in 1998; since she had no children, we all absorbed her estate. My mother wanted me to have this. Next question; how would I go about putting it up for sale? Any help offered will guarantee a commission.
      Blessings!

We can not post things for sale on this site but an auction would be best place like ebay . The collectors will bid her right amount if you post her correct . Be sure to put her under Ideal Toy and her name in title"Vintage Baby Be Mine Muff circa 1911 " good luck !!

thanks for your help and encouragement! we already tried e-bay once, with not one single bid! That's why I've been exploring other methods. I have Klar's auction house in Berkeley (no. calif.) and I might give them a try.
      I really appreciate everything!

Kay she will not sell real high if you take her to local auction just know it may go for 10 dollars and you have to pay a percent to auction house . How did you have her listed on ebay under what catagory ? There is a select group of people that will want her so you need to target a large market . Childrens Vintage clothes , dolls . I have a photo of her in My Ideal book and they give a suggested price but those prices are outdated and the market is tight now . You may consider holding her for a year till dolls come back to a higher selling price ?

Adorable! I wouldn't take her to Clars unless they are holding a doll centered auction. She might get lost in the mix.

thanks for the "heads up:"= I'm not sure how they operate and I wouldn't let go of her for a minute! I'm going to enlist my cousins' help again to put her on e-bay! Just so you all realize how grateful I am for your input~!
