I have one of these in my lantern collection, it's more or less a novelity item to a collector. I paid $15 for mine in near new condition.

This is what was issued in 1973 when I started work for the Louisville and Nashivile R.R. It uses a 6 volt battery and has a flood bulb and a spot bulb. Used by Trainman and Switchman. Mine is made of steel but later they changed to plastic.

A brakeman or carman lantern. double ended lights, or just on one end? I have one with a flashing blue on one end, and a white bulb on the other. Southern Pacific.
