I brought this Amber piece to an auction house and they said it once was all Amber but since was melted down to put this insect in then rehardened. When they rehardened it wasnt all Amber anymore. Does that make sense to anyone?

Yes, it's done a lot now. Genuine large size amber is rare and expensive, so manufacturers use amber dust/waist and matching color or clear resin as a bonding element to create large pieces. Inclusions of insects are often added in the process. The manufactured piece may test positively as amber because, after all, it contains natural tree resin.
