How does one tell if the Amber is real or not? Does AMber really have any value? Is it better with bugs or not?

Real Amber, especially the old one has certainly value. Real Amber is very light in weight.
A test is done by sticking a hot needle into an inconspicuous spot on the amber. If the piece is genuine, it will emit a pine-like odor. But the only true est is done with ether. Place a mall amount on a cotton swab and apply it to the piece also into an inconspicuous spot. If the amber is genuine the ether will not affect it. If it is plastic, it will become sticky and the ether will eat into it. Perhaps you can acquire a little bit of ether through your doctor. Good luck!

Agram.m I used the ether method and there was no stickiness and didn't eat into it. Thanks so much...

Your necklace made of small chips is more likely to be natural amber than the one with large beads.
