      oooh the opalescents!!! gorgeous!! I've been looking for a book on these, most are quite collectable,they appear in many 'antique priceguide' books ...wish I could tell you more about them. Beautiful to have, with or without background knowledge!

      These are reproductions marketed by L.G.Wright, but now collectible in their own right. The original was made by Northwood. They became part of National Glass Co. and moulds became National's assets. The mould then became property of Dugan Glass Company when they purchased the factory from National. Dugan then became Diamond Glass-Ware Company in the teens and burned to the ground in 1931. It was first during the 1930s that Wright acquired many moulds; bought them at scrap prices bc nobody wanted them during those lean years of the Depression. He may have copied this mould, or altered it, adding a candle cup to it, because the original was a compote without the candle cup. There is a large centerpiece bowl that matches this set, that was from a new mould.

      My mom has some from her mom that I'll inherit, we are trying to find info on them too so thank you both Pat and Paul for sharing pictures and information!!
